Inequality and Public Policy

Assistant Professor Kristina Strohmaier is a Junior Research Associate at ZEW. She works in close cooperation with the Research Group “Inequality and Public Policy”.

Kristina Strohmaier is an assistant professor at the Department of Public Economics at the University of Tübingen. Her research is mainly empirical and focuses on (international) taxation, tax evasion, and the economics of education. She is particularly interested in how institutions and legal regulations (e.g. tax incentives, smoking bans, school transition regulations) affect human behaviour.

In July 2017, she completed her doctorate in economics at the Ruhr University Bochum under Professor Nadine Riedel. As a doctoral student, she also worked as a research assistant at the University of Hohenheim with Professor Dwenger. In her position as assistant professor, she has completed several short research stays at Columbia University, USA, and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.
