Meeting of Leibniz Economic Research Institutes at ZEW

Once a year, the executive and administrative leaders of the economic research institutes of the Leibniz Association come together to discuss current developments and cross-institutional challenges. This year, ZEW in Mannheim was chosen to host the meeting on 14 June 2023. The agenda included topics such as the prevailing political framework conditions as well the current budgetary situation of the institutes.

Thomas Kohl, the managing director of ZEW, expressed great pleasure in welcoming the group to the institute and emphasised, “As economic research institutes that provide policy advice, we not only contribute significantly to the ongoing debates on inflation, budget consolidations, or wage agreements, but we are also directly affected by these issues. This meeting is an invaluable opportunity for mutual exchange regarding current challenges and how we can position ourselves even better in the future.”
