YES! South-West Regional Final a Great Success
Dates and NewsWinning Teams Present Topics on Climate Change and Sustainable Corporate Management
From digitalisation in schools to shortage of skilled professionals: On 14 July 2022, seven school teams competed with their ideas and concepts at the South-West regional final at ZEW Mannheim to reach the final round of the YES! – Young Economic Summit school competition in Hamburg in September.
ZEW President Professor Achim Wambach emphasised the importance of teaching economic thinking at a young age, using the current debate on gas supply as an example. The innovative solutions the teams found to their individual tasks prove that the participating teams could not agree more. After an eventful day, the two winning teams of the South-West region were determined: team Heidehof-Gymnasium Stuttgart on the topic of climate change and flood disasters, and team Gymnasium Neubiberg with its take on sustainable, entrepreneurial vision. ZEW Mannheim congratulates both teams and keeps its fingers crossed for the final round. All participating teams have the chance to win a YES! wildcard after all regional finals have been completed. Having participated in the YES! school competition five times in a row, ZEW is once again represented by a team in the final round. The students from St. Raphael-Gymnasium in Heidelberg won the independent digital regional final and enters the final round with their ideas on “How can public demand for environmentally friendly products be promoted?”. Good luck to all participants!
