ZEW Presents Research Network to Leibniz Association
Dates and NewsAt the end of last year, ZEW was invited by the Leibniz Association to present the project “Non-Cognitive Skills: Acquisition and Economic Consequences” as part of the event “Exzellenz durch Vernetzung. Kooperationsprojekte der deutschen Wissenschaftsorganisationen mit Hochschulen im Pakt für Forschung und Innovation” (“Excellence through Networking: Cooperative Projects between German Scientific Organisations and Universities through the Pact for Research and Innovation”). The meeting, which attracted representatives from a number of scientific institutions as well as numerous German lawmakers, took place on 12 November in Berlin.
The aim of the event was to present the achievements of the Pact for Research and Innovation as well as the research funds allocated through competitive procedures to both political decision-makers and the scientific community. The research network coordinated by ZEW, “Non-Cognitive Skills: Acquisition and Economic Consequences”, was selected because of its international and interdisciplinary approach to networking with universities. The presentation in Berlin was organised in collaboration with the Zentrum zur Erforschung von Intentionen und Intentionalität of the University of Konstanz.
The research network “Non-Cognitive Skills: Acquisition and Economic Consequences” investigates issues related to the creation of human capital, such as the causes and consequences of the acquisition of cognitive and non-cognitive skills over the course of an individual’s life.
