Dr. Reinhold Kesler is junior research associate at ZEW. He works in close cooperation with the research unit “Digital Economy”.
Reinhold Kesler is Assistant Professor of Economics, especially Law and Economics, at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. His research focuses on the economics of digitalisation, and more specifically on the functioning and the competition policy aspects of digital platforms, as well as on the role of user data. He has extensive experience in applied empirical work with web-scraped data.
Reinhold Kesler was senior research associate at the University of Zurich, where he previously completed his doctoral thesis on competition policy aspects in the digital era. During his doctorate, he worked at ZEW in the research unit “Digital Economy”. Before joining ZEW, Reinhold Kesler studied economics at the University of Mannheim, focusing on applied microeconometrics and empirical industrial organisation.
