Bildungspolitik in Frankreich
Refereed Journal // 2003The aim of this paper is to present the French experience with respect to education policy in the past few decades and to assess it in the light of the educational debate in Germany. The general objectives of the French education policy, such as the raise of the education level in the population, the reduction of social inequalities, the response to economic and social changes, are largely similar to those prevailing in Germany. The difficulties faced by the education system - such as the educational expansion, the increasing heterogeneity of students, a high unemployment rate and rising costs – are largely common to both countries as well. Therefore, the policy measures taken by France with respect to educational policy show alternative ways to respond to similar problems.
