Trump’s Exit From Multilateralism – The End of the Global Minimum Tax?

#ZEWlive

Claiming unfair treatment for American companies, President Donald Trump left the OECD's global tax deal negotiations by executive order. He declared that a global corporate minimum tax deal "had no force or effect" in the U.S. This pulls America out of the landmark 2021 arrangement negotiated by the Biden administration with nearly 140 countries. The move threatens global tax cooperation and could hinder a historic effort to reform international tax rules.

Our webinar will explore the likely implications of the US rejection regarding international tax cooperation on the minimum tax in Europe. Does it mark the end of global tax cooperation after all? How will third countries react? Does the EU need to review its minimum tax legislation?  And finally, will the Global Minimum Tax finally become an additional disadvantage for EU locations in the competition for mobile companies?

The audience will be able to ask questions in the chat.
