Fabian Oppel

Fabian Oppel is a press officer at ZEW Mannheim, where he is responsible for the research units “Digital Economy”, “Inequality and Public Policy”, and “Health Care Markets and Health Policy”. In this role, he ensures that complex scientific findings are translated for a wider audience and communicated through the media. He maintains close relationships with German and international media representatives and supports ZEW researchers in preparing their results for target audiences. He also offers in-house media training and contributes strategically to the further development of ZEW’s communication channels. Additionally, he produces content and videos for the institute’s social media platforms.

Before joining ZEW, Fabian Oppel gained several years of experience in communication and editorial work, including positions at a market research institute and various companies. He also worked as a freelance journalist for print, online, and TV. He studied German and business administration at the universities of Mannheim and Heidelberg.
