2024 was not a quiet year: German car makers were facing a serious sales crisis, after Donald Trump’s election as US President all signs pointed to economic protectionism and all the while, the German government coalition was headed for collapse. But there is also positive news. The inflation rate has settled at approximately two per cent and the labour market appears astonishingly resilient.
