Sociopolitical Impact of the German Energy Transition
Sociopolitical Impact of the German Energy Transition
The research project "Sociopolitical Impact of the German Energy Transition" examines the links between energy and social policy with help of empirical analyses and contributions of philosophy, economic ethics, and general considerations of justice.Essential questions in the course of the energy transition are whether private households are increasingly affected by rising energy costs, which distribution effects the German Energy Transition has, and how "fuel poverty" can be avoided. Attitudes of the general public regarding redistribution and compensation mechanisms related to energy and climate policy will be examined. A further research focus relates to the question if and how households adapt their lifestyles to changes in energy prices.www.zew.de/soko2013
