Expertises // 2012The training programm "Duales Orientierungspraktikum–Studienorientierung schaffen" intends to help students in secondary schools in Northrhein-Westfalia to improve the match between their competences and job aspirations in an academic track. In particular, a coaching system helps students to develop study choice readiness.
The research project "Duales Orientierungspraktikum" was conducted on behalf of the govering board Northrhine-Westfalia of the Federal Employment Agency as well as the Institute for Employment Research - the Research Institute of the Federal Employment Agencies in cooperation with gfa|public, Berlin. Comprehensive research was based on a coordinated portfolio of impact, region and implementation analysis. Specifically, based on control group designs, we investigated whether the programme goals have been reached and whether study choice readiness of participants improved from 2010 to 2012. In addition, we examined the overall quality of the implementation of the programme and elaborated on suggestions for improvements.
