ZEW Sponsors’ Association Welcomes New Board Members

The General Assembly of the ZEW Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice elected Thomas Herr and Eric Perotti as new members of the association’s board.

Herr, CFO of Freudenberg SE, takes the place of Dr. Ralf Krieger who shaped the activities of the ZEW Sponsors’ Association for over ten years and provided important impetus. Perotti, CEO at ABB AG, succeeds Markus Ochsner, member of the association’s board since 2022. Krieger and Ochsner are leaving the association due to retirement.

Both Perotti and Herr have built successful careers in their respective companies over decades. Their international professional experience and networks, among others, will be a valuable contribution to the association.

Dr. Ralph Rheinboldt, chairman of the ZEW Sponsors’ Association, acknowledges the contributions of the departing board members: “We would like to thank Dr. Krieger and Mr. Ochsner for their many years of activity on the board of the ZEW Sponsors' Association. The ZEW Sponsors’ Association supports practice-relevant research projects, provides funding for ZEW lecture series with top-level speakers from the areas of politics, business and academia, and sponsors prizes for excellent scientific work and policy advice. The association counts 140 large and medium-sized companies as well as private individuals among its members, who, through their commitment, support a strong economic research institute in Baden-Württemberg.
