Economic survey of the information sector
The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) conducts a quarterly survey among companies in the information sector starting in the third quarter of 2011. The latter effort is a follow-up project, replacing the economic survey among service providers for the information society. The survey consists of close to 1000 companies, regularly reporting on the business development of their enterprises and their expectations for the following quarter. Alongside the economic development of the sector, the inquiry further requests information on the diffusion of information and communication technologies (ICT) and on investments in ICT. Moreover, the survey gathers background information, such as the number of employees and their respective qualifications, apprenticeship and additional in-service training possibilities, as well as the innovativeness of the firm.Further information on the information sector and the survey can be found on the publication’s website.
