Subject of the report is a comprehensive analysis of the importance of the German Bausparkassen (building societies) system in the federal state of Baden Württemberg. In an indroductory approach the functions of the Bausparkassen system for private wealth accumulation and private pension provision will be analysed more generally and new developements in the Bausparkassen system will be described. Target group of the study are political decision makers in Baden-Württemberg, but also the broader public in Baden Württemberg as well as on federal level.
