Market Design
Adrian Hillenbrand is a researcher in ZEW‘s Research Unit “Market Design” and associate professor of economics, in particular experimental economics for market design at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He studied economics at the universities of Bonn and Mannheim. He received his PhD in economics from the University of Bonn under the supervision of Professor Sebastian Kube and Professor Armin Falk. Subsequently, he worked as a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn. In 2020/21, he held a substitute professorship at the University of Mannheim for one year, teaching mainly courses on behavioural economics and price discrimination.
His current research interests include the strategic interaction of buyers and sellers or online platforms in digital markets with a focus on consumer protection. He also works on topics such as co-operation and volunteering.
