Environmental and Climate Economics
Oliver Schenker is Deputy Head of ZEW’s “Environmental and Climate Economics” Research Unit. He is also an associated member of the Sustainable Finance Research Platform and a senior advisor of the sustainable finance think tank Climate & Company. Previously, he has been Robert Bosch Assistant Professor for the Sustainable Use of Natural Resources at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the Frankfurt School – UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance. He holds a PhD from the University of Bern, where he also completed his undergraduate studies. His research focuses on the design of efficient and effective climate and environmental policies. He is particularly interested in the impacts of policy interventions in a globalized and interdependent world. His research has been published, inter alia, in the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, and Nature Energy.
