ZEW Expertise Added to the Board of China Institute Frankfurt
PersonnelPhilipp Böing Elected into Governing Body of Goethe University’s China Institute
Professor Philipp Böing, senior researcher in ZEW Mannheim’s Research Unit “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics” and Professor of Empirical Innovation Research with Focus on China at Goethe University Frankfurt, has been elected into the board of the university’s China Institute.
“Since 1925, the China Institute of the Goethe University Frankfurt has served as an interface between academia and the general public interested in China. It focuses on the fields of culture, politics, economics and law. By organising regular events, the Institute provides a platform for China expertise in Frankfurt am Main – and beyond. I'm delighted to have been elected as a new board member and look forward to contributing to the work of the China Institute,” says Böing.
About Philipp Böing
Philipp Böing has taught and conducted research as an assistant professor at Peking University’s China Center for Economic Research. He has also advised the World Bank, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the German Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI). Philipp Böing is a research fellow of the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn and a fellow of Tsinghua University in Beijing. In 2023, he visited the Institute of Economics of Academia Sinica as a Taiwan Fellow.
