The activities of the department play an important role in expanding the international and European dimensions of the research and policy advising work carried out by ZEW. The department maintains a network of international contacts and contributes to the development of collaborations and institutional partnerships with research institutions, universities, and other organisations worldwide. Important elements in this work are the SEEK programme and the Visiting Researchers Programme, both of which are coordinated by the department. The team also supports researchers internally by providing information on the EU Framework Programme and research contracts with EU institutions, advising as well on opportunities for participation in EU policy advisory projects.
Serving as contact point for all inquiries from visitor groups and delegations, the service department significantly promotes ZEW’s networking opportunities and lively exchange with various target groups. The team is also responsible for coordinating ZEW’s participation in Germany’s largest high school competition on global future issues, the YES! – Young Economic Summit.
